Think: Beginning of summer, sitting on the porch with your feet up as the sun sets. Yeah, it’s that good.
Riesling is a nice change for white wine drinkers who want to switch up from Pinot or Moscato. I particularly appreciate this wine because it’s “semi-dry,” with some awesome flavor. Think first summer night in a bottle. It’s cool, refreshing, and fruity that packs a pretty powerful dryness at the end. This fabulous Riesling hails from Mosel, Germany with Dr. Heidemanns-Bergweiler’s vineyard.
Funny story, when Reko and I first went looking for something different we stopped by Total Wine and a man named Bob (no joke) asked us our first 3 seconds in the store if we needed any help. I told him I was in a sweeter mood, but not looking for a sweet Moscato. He walked away and came back in 5 seconds saying how great this Riesling was. I was thinking it’d be ridiculously pricey and was already fixing my lips to say no, you can keep that, but then he dropped the bomb.
Anyway, as we checked out, two other employees raved about this wine and we loved it. So, definitely look into it.
It’s perfect for a Wine Down Wednesday when you need a sip of summer in your life.
